The 90-minute long walking
tour is led by interpretive guides familiar with the history and architecture
of Kapa'a Town.
The tour begins and ends at the
Pono Kai Resort ocean side of the "Welcome to Kapa'a" sign.
Hear the intriguing story of Kapa'a's Japanese Stone Lantern, built in the 1910s
and buried at the outset of World War II. Learn how the Kaua'i Historical
Society plans to restore the monument.
Light clothing, walking shoes,
and sun screen recommended. Refreshments are served at Pono Kai Resort
during the tour.
Pono Kai Resort is located on Kuhio Highway in the heart of Kapa'a
Town, 3 miles from the Wailua River, and 8 miles north of Lihu'e Airport.
